Torque Tool Calibration System Accessories
A.K.O. offers additional accessories to make AKO products the most complete systems available. From accessories that turn the handle of a torque wrench, to fixtures that hold a torque watch perfectly perpendicular for precise measurement. We also offer add-ons that make it possible to test different types of tools other than Torque tools. We have accessories that can be added to AKO’s Click Wrench Calibration Systems to calibrate Dynamometers, Force Gauges, Tensiometers, and Compression Gauges. These components are used in conjunction with a TSD2044, a one-foot Torque arm, that attaches to the Torque Transducer and allows the technician to measure direct Pound readings. These accessories offer a safer alternative than stacking weights to calibrate these types of tools.
All of the systems that AKO manufactures have the ability to test a wide range of Torque tools for precise calibration. The Click Wrench Calibration Systems, with additional accessories, can also test lower capacity Torque Multipliers, Hydraulic Wrenches and Pneumatic/Electric Torque Guns. The higher capacity TSD__035 systems that AKO offers are modular and can also be expanded to calibrate high capacity Hydraulic Wrenches, Torque Multipliers and Pneumatic/Electric Torque Guns all on one system. This keeps the footprint that the systems take up, as small as possible. This is especially important for Mobile or Smaller Labs where space is limited.
Lower Capacity System Accessories
The TSD1016 Precision Torque Watch and Gauge Test System is a rugged worm geared rotary actuator designed to precisely rotate a Torque Watch or Gauge to a defined torque value and hold the device for data acquisition or adjustment. The TSD1016 can be mounted on an existing AKO torque loader setup, TSD1016-LM, or be used with an A.K.O. torque transducer as a stand-alone system, TSD1016-FS
The manually actuated TSD1016 ensures precise calibration by keeping the torque watch or gauge in line with the torque transducer eliminating side load. It also allows the technician to hold a torque value applied to the tool steady while comparing the readings. Our standard and special plate adapters, TSD1016-30’s, accommodate most manufacturers’ torque watches and screwdrivers.
TSD1020 Le Twister
The TSD1020 Le Twister automates the turning of the handle on an adjustable click wrench, relieving the stresses of turning many wrench handles all day. This rugged bi-directional two speed torque wrench twister is foot pedal actuated, with two speeds in the clockwise direction and fast return in the counter-clockwise direction. The replaceable tough cone shaped rubber chuck liner has a unique groove to hold locking handle type wrenches. The specially designed tapered rubber chuck liner adapts to all standard sized click wrenches. The TSD1020 can be added to any Click wrench system or mounted directly to a bench.
The TSD1025, A.K.O.’s rotary actuator, is a motorized high reduction planetary geared input drive system, which is used to apply Input Torque to a torque multiplier being calibrated. Simply put, it is a motor that applies input torque on the input drive of any torque multiplier. Using a motor to supply the input torque on a torque multiplier allows the operator to easily, and accurately control the amount of torque being applied, in a continuous motion. AKO’s TSD6500 Digital Indicator is equipped with dual display mode, and can simultaneously register and display both the input value and the resultant output value. The TSD1025 has a maximum capacity of 2000 lbf∙ft, and operates on 110V 60 Hz only. It is primarily used on Multiplier Systems, but can be added to Click Wrench Systems, Hydraulic Systems, or can be used as a standalone system mounted to a bench.
The TSD2035 is an adapter plate that mounts on the TSD2050 or TSD2060 torque loader and is used to calibrate torque multipliers. The plate has many different hole patterns to accommodate pin type reaction torque multipliers, such as Sweeney or Norbar multipliers, and gear driven torque multipliers, such as ATP or Powerdyne torque tools.
The TSD2044 Torque arm is a one-foot arm that is mounted onto the torque transducer in the TSD2050/TSD2060 Click wrench system. This arm allows the user to use the torque transducer to measure force in direct pounds. This versatile accessory expands the types of tools that can be tested on the system. The operator can test cable tensiometers with the TSD2044, but when used in combination with other AKO accessories, can test force gauges with TSD2091, dynamometers with TSD2090 and TSD2096, and compression gauges with TSD2095.
TSD2044-4 is a Tensiometer cable holder that is used with the TSD2044 moment arm. It allows a technician to apply precise tension to a stainless-steel aircraft cable, which is used to verify and calibrate a cable tensiometer. It can accommodate cable sizes from 1/16” to 9/32”. The TSD2044-4 is bolted on the right-hand end of the TSD2050/TSD2060 Click wrench calibration system. One ball end of the tensiometer cable is attached to the TSD2044 moment arm, and the other end is placed in the appropriately sized groove on the TSD2044-4. A cover, TSD2044-3, is used to prevent the cable from rising out of the holder.
The TSD2051-PN-40 is a reaction cage that is used to test pneumatic wrenches that have a reaction foot. The reaction cage mounts to the sliding reaction bar of the TSD2050/TSD2060 system and holds the reaction foot on the pneumatic wrench in place allowing the technician to safely test pneumatic wrenches, and easily back off the TSD363 rundown adapter.
The TSD2051-7 is a height adjustment collar that slides up and down the TSD2051-24 reaction post. This allows the operator to keep the handle of the wrench level when it is installed on the TSD2050/TSD2060 Click wrench system. It is important to keep the wrench level to get the most accurate results.
The TSD2051-24 is the reaction post that the handle of the wrench being calibrated reacts against. They are available in two sizes, TSD2051-24-7 which is seven inches tall, and TSD2051-24-9 which is nine inches tall. The reaction post has a 3/4″ pin at the bottom that easily installs into the sliding reaction bar of the TSD2050/TSD2060 Click wrench system. There are multiple 3/4″ holes on the reaction bar to allow the operator to place the reaction post in the best position for precise calibration.
TSD2051-26, TSD2051-36, TSD2051-48, and TSD2051-60
The TSD2051-26, TSD2051-36, TSD2051-48, and TSD2051-60 are all long wrench extensions that are used with the TSD2050/TSD2060 systems. The TSD2051-26 is a 24” long extension, the TSD2051-36 is 36”, the TSD2051-48 is 48”, and the TSD2051-60 is 60”. These extensions are used on longer torque wrenches that are too big to fit on the standard TSD2050/TSD2060 systems. The extension fits on the sliding reaction bar of the system and can easily be installed and removed.
The TSD2053 is a dual pin reaction post that is used for testing higher capacity torque tools on the TSD2050/TSD2060 Click wrench system. This reaction post uses two pins to support the higher reaction forces, rather than the one pin on the standard reaction post offering precise calibration. This is typically used when testing reaction type torque multipliers, hydraulic wrenches, and higher capacity click wrenches.
The TSD2090 is an A.K.O. manufactured accessory used to calibrate Dynamometers. It is used with the TSD2044 moment arm on a TSD2050 or TSD2060 Click Wrench Calibration System. The Dynamometer is connected to the TSD2090 and secured to the right side of the TSD2050 or TSD2060 using the provided shoulder bolt. The ball end of a ball-to-loop Stainless-Steel cable is attached to the TSD2044 arm, and the loop end is attached to the Dynamometer. Turning the handwheel of the TSD2050 or TSD2060 will apply a load, measured in lbf on the TSD6500, which can be verified against the reading on the Dynamometer.
The TSD2091 is an A.K.O. manufactured accessory used to calibrate Force Gauges. It is used with the TSD2044 moment arm on a TSD2050 or TSD2060 Click Wrench Calibration System and is available as a kit with specialty hardware. The Force Gauge is mounted to the TSD2091 Force Gauge Plate using the provided thumb screws, and then secured to the right side of the TSD2050 or TSD2060 using the provided shoulder bolt. The ball end of a ball-to-loop Stainless-Steel cable is attached to the TSD2044 arm, and the loop end is attached to the Force Gauge. Turning the handwheel of the TSD2050 or TSD2060 will apply a load, measured in lbf on the TSD6500, which can be verified against the reading on the Force Gauge.
The TSD2095 is a Cage Assembly designed by A.K.O. and is used to calibrate Compression Gauges. It is used with the TSD2044 moment arm on a TSD2050 or TSD2060 Click Wrench Calibration System. The TSD2095 is secured to the right side of the TSD2050 or TSD2060 using the provided shoulder bolt. There is a Stainless-Steel cable that is already attached to the top portion of the Cage assembly, which is used to attach to the TSD2044 arm. The Compression Gauge is installed in the TSD2095 Cage Assembly using the provided adapters. Turning the handwheel of the TSD2050 or TSD2060 will apply a load, measured in lbf on the TSD6500, which can be verified against the reading on the Compression Gauge.
The TSD2096 is a two-piece clevis system designed by A.K.O. and is used to calibrate Dynamometers that have eye bolts or shackles. It is used with the TSD2044 moment arm on a TSD2050 or TSD2060 Click Wrench Calibration System. The TSD2096 base clevis is attached to one of the eye bolts on the Dynamometer, and the TSD2096 cable clevis is connected to the other eye bolt. The base clevis is secured to the right side of the TSD2050 or TSD2060 using the provided shoulder bolt. One ball end of a ball-to-ball Stainless-Steel cable is attached to the TSD2044 arm, and the other ball end is attached to the cable clevis on the Dynamometer. Turning the handwheel of the TSD2050 or TSD2060 will apply a load, measured in lbf on the TSD6500, which can be verified against the reading on the Dynamometer.
The TSD4018 is a reaction column that mounts to the left side of the TSD2050/TSD2060 Click wrench calibration system. It provides a stable reaction point directly above the A.K.O. Resident Transducer located in the TSD2050/TSD2060 system. It is used to perform inline calibrations of other manufacturer’s torque transducers up to 4000 lbf. ft, that have an accuracy of .4% and higher.
High Capacity System Accessories
The TSD10003-HT-24 is a top plate that fits onto the TSD10011 10,000 lbf ft transducer to provide a 1 1/2″ square hole that accepts the square drive of a torque tool. The plate is made of hardened alloy steel and is made to withstand repetitive torque forces on a daily basis. It should be bolted down to the transducer to prevent the plate from lifting up during use.
The TSD10003-PN-56 is a top plate that fits onto the TSD10011 10,000 lbf ft transducer to provide a 3 1/2″ square hole that accepts the square drive of a torque tool. The plate is made of hardened alloy steel and is made to withstand repetitive torque forces on a daily basis. It should be bolted down to the transducer to prevent the plate from lifting up during use during precise calibration.
The TSD20006-43-40-2-8.5 is a spline adapter that is used to calibrate torque multipliers that use a spline drive to apply torque. These types of multipliers include the Sweeney 8100, the Sweeney 8200, the Advance Hydraulic AH-1043 and the AH-2043. The adapter is a 43 tooth spline that slides into the multiplier being tested, and has a 2 1/2″ square drive that fits into the top square of a TSD20011 20,000 lbf ft torque transducer. The adapter is made from hardened alloy steel and designed to withstand the torque forces during calibration of torque tools on a daily basis. These adapters are also available in a 60 tooth and 90 tooth configurations.
The TSD20035-HT-13 is a reaction post that mounts into the TSD20035-HT-20 reaction arm. The post is used on the TSD10035-HT, and the TSD20035-HT systems and is used as a reaction point for the reaction foot of a hydraulic wrench. The Post is a half-moon shape to allow for the reaction of a hydraulic wrench at many angles. An alternate version of this reaction post is also available for higher capacity systems.
The TSD20035-HT-20 is a reaction arm that mounts onto the TSD20035-HT system. The arm acts as a brace to hold the TSD20035-HT-13 reaction post and is made to withstand the torque forces that a hydraulic wrench will apply during precise calibration. An alternate version of this arm is also available for higher capacity systems.
The TSD20035-PN-20 is a reaction cage that is used to test pneumatic wrenches that have a reaction foot. The reaction cage mounts to the top of the TSD 20035-HT or TSD__235-TM system and holds the reaction foot on the pneumatic wrench in place allowing the technician to safely test pneumatic wrenches, and easily back off the TSD363 rundown adapter.
TSD__235 Bridge Plates
The TSD__235-TM-2 is a bridge plate that is used to calibrate torque multipliers. The plate has many different hole patterns to accommodate pin type reaction torque multipliers, such as Sweeney or Norbar multipliers, and gear driven torque multipliers, such as ATP or Powerdyne torque tools. The holes will also accept Reaction pins to calibrate reaction type torque multipliers as well. A version of this plate is also available for higher capacity systems.
TSD__235-3, TSD__235-20 & TSD__235-TM-32 Reaction Pins
These reaction pins fit into the TSD__235-TM-2 Multiplier Bridge plate. It is a 1 1/4″ round reaction post made from hardened alloy steel and designed to withstand the torque forces during precise calibration of torque tools on a daily basis.
TSD3085-ER40 is a spring collet chuck that is used on Fastener Testing Systems to hold a fastener or nut in line with the A.K.O. Torque Transducer during testing. Multiple size spring collets are available to cover a range of fastener sizes up to one inch.
TSD3085-ER40-SQ is a chuck that is used on Fastener Testing Systems to provide a square drive for use with sockets that hold the fastener in line with the Torque Transducer during testing. Square drives are available in 1/4 inch, 3/8 inch, 1/2 inch, and 3/4 inch.
The Shim Set is used on a Hydraulic System to change the reaction position of the point of contact between the Hydraulic Torque Wrench reaction foot and the system reaction post. The shims allow the technician to achieve a “Parallel Condition” where the force generated by the hydraulic torque wrench reacts squarely on the TSD20035-HT-20 Torque Reaction Arm. An alternate version of this shim set is also available for higher capacity systems.
AKO’s custom Shipping Case is a high quality, name brand, protective case that is fitted with custom cut high density foam to ensure the safe shipment of AKO Transducers, Indicators, and Cables when they are sent out for calibration. The foam within the case can be ordered in many configurations taking into consideration the physical size and number of transducers. Some features of the case itself include strong polyurethane wheels with stainless steel bearings, a retractable handle to facilitate rolling, an O-ring lined lid to create a water tight seal, an automatic pressure equalization valve to balance the interior air pressure, and stainless-steel hardware and padlock protectors to ensure the security of the AKO equipment during shipping.
